Most IRONMAN races open immediately after this year’s race occurs. Most IRONMAN 70.3 races open nine to ten months prior to the event date.

If a race is not yet open, the price will be published immediately prior to race open. No waiting lists are provided for events within the US & Canada. 

Europe, Middle East & Africa

Most IRONMAN races open immediately after the current year’s race occurs. Most IRONMAN 70.3 races open nine to ten months prior to the event date. If a race is not yet open, the price will be published prior to the race opening. If you want to receive a reminder when registration next opens, please subscribe using the ‘Remind-me' button on the registration page of your race.We do not offer wait lists once a race is sold out.

Oceania

Some races will offer a waiting list once sold out. If a waiting list is available, it can also be found under the “Register” tab of that race page.

North America

No, athletes cannot switch or gift their slot to another person should that athlete be unable to compete. Per USAT regulations, competing in a sanctioned event without properly registering and paying for your entry is strictly prohibited, which includes both selling an entry to another party or purchasing an entry through a third part. Europe, Middle East & Africa

If you need to withdraw from one of our EMEA races you need to fill in the withdrawal form on our website. Please open the event website of your specific race and go on the “Register” tab. Below "Register" you can find the “Transfer/Withdrawal” page. Here, you can find the transfer and withdrawal policy, as well as all event specific deadlines. The withdrawal form is found at the bottom of the page. Once the withdrawal form has been completed, your request will be processed within 5 working days, you will then receive a conformation email.

Athlete check-in times vary by race but please note that race morning check-in is not offered at any event. In some instances, this year’s specific schedule may not yet be finalized – 
please use the prior year’s Event Schedule as a guide on the day of the week we anticipate check-in being offered this year.

No - only registered athletes are allowed into Athlete Check-In. You will be required to verify your medical information and sign your event waivers.

Please bring your photo ID and triathlon federation (USAT, etc) membership card during the designated check-in hours. All athletes MUST check-in during designated hours.

Europe, Middle East & Africa: 

No; only registered athletes are allowed into Athlete Check-In. You will be required to sign your event waivers (please check on the specific event website if a medical certificate is required). Please bring photo ID and your triathlon license during the designated check-in hours. All athletes MUST check-in during designated hours.

Oceania:

If racing in Australia or New Zealand you only need a photo ID.

This rule is in effect for a number of important reasons and exists to make your experience the best, safest and most stress-free it can be. The scheduling of Athlete Check-In is designed to allow each athlete the opportunity to become oriented with the venue, acclimated to the area and receive all the necessary information needed to have a successful race. We want to ensure the very best experience for you, not only on race day, but throughout the weekend’s activities. Please make your travel plans accordingly.

Professionals must hold a valid professional/elite card or a letter from their country’s federation. For more information on IRONMAN pro membership, please go to https://www.ironman.com/pro-athletes.  You must declare your status to race in that division. Otherwise you will be in the Age Group category determined by your birth date.

Changes to your registration information must be made through your active.com account.

Please make sure to specify the changes you need made and include all email addresses you may have used as well as your full name and date of birth so we can successfully make the changes.

USA & Canada

To complete the online registration process, athletes will need to enter their USAT annual license number or purchase a one-day license or annual license during online registration. Athletes must bring their photo identification and show proof of current USAT membership during Athlete Check-In. Otherwise, it will be required to purchase a one-day license on-site. Europe, Middle East & Africa

At some EMEA races, athletes will need to have a valid triathlon license in order to participate in the race. Please check out the FAQs and Athlete Guide on the race homepage to find out if you are required to have a valid triathlon license or any additional documents. If you need a triathlon license, you have different options, depending on the specific rules for that race.

To avoid any last-minute stress please read the FAQs/Athlete Guide corresponding to your race.

  1. You have the required triathlon license

You have all valid documents/licenses that are required for your race. Bring your license/documents and photo identification to the on-spot registration in order to receive your starter kit. During on-spot race registration, you will have to present them to the registration/license team.

  1. You do not have the required triathlon license

If you do not have the required license, please check out where to buy it. This depends on the race; either through online registration or onsite at the registration tent. Please note that one-day licenses brought online are non-refundable.

The covering of the license depends on the regulations of each federation.

Yes, it is possible to complete a person to person transfer of your entry if the entry is transferred before the deadline.
