Athletes can request to transfer their entry to a lesser or greater race distance up until such time as that race distance is sold out, subject to the following terms:  
  • Torequest a transfer from one race distance to another, athletes must log intotheirMy Registration and select Change Category before the deadline.
  • After this date, such requests can only be made at the Help Desk at Athlete Check-in.  
  • Transferring to a greater distance: Wherean athlete requests to transfer to a greater distance and space is available, the athlete is required to pay the difference in entry fees between the twodistances.  
  • Transferring to a shorter distance: Wherean athlete requests to transfer to a shorter distanceand space is available, the difference in entry fees will not berefunded.  
The safety of all athletes on course is our priority. Our event team considers each race/event individually to determine the entry requirements. Each policy differs between race, while some races are not suitable others are. Our goal is to make everyone’s racing dreams a reality so if you would like information on other events where the course is able to accommodate wheelchair participation or any other course accessibility needs, please email us (see contact page on relevant event website) or via phone on 1300 761 384.  
 
We are pleased to let you know we will be introducing the use of non-race chairs at 2025 Hoka Runaway Sydney Half Marathon. Any participant wishing to compete in a non-racing or day wheelchair are welcome to enter the HOKA Runaway Sydney Half Marathon or 10km and are asked to enter the Yellow Start Group. Please be aware and consider the below before entering:  
  • Overall course cut-offs must be met by all competitors – (course cut-offs subject to change).   
  • Runaway Sydney Half Marathon cut-off time is 3 hours from start line closure  
  • Runaway Sydney 10km cut-off is 9:15am (must be able to maintain an average pace of 12min/km or faster)  
  • Course elevation, density, terrain and surfaces will vary. There may be areas of the approved course on public land which require assessment based on individual ability. Competitors should familiarise themselves with the entire course to ensure its suitability before entering.

It is each athlete’s sole responsibility to ensure that they can attend (including Athlete Check-In during specified times) and compete in the event on the day. Other than as provided for in the Athlete Withdrawal program set out above, no further remedies will be provided for change of mind, change of personal circumstances (including work conflicts), or injury. 

If you decide to withdraw from the event after collecting your race bib at Check-In, please advise Event Information onsite. If you need to withdraw on race day, your details must be recorded by the Drop Out Clerk located at Event Information. 

Athletes can transfer their race entry to someone else in accordance with the stated Person to Person Transfer date:   

  • Person to Person transfers accepted up until the specific deadline. Please the visit event website for exact dates. No Person to Person transfers accepted after this date.   
  • A transfer fee including all fees and taxes will be charged to the withdrawing athlete.   
  • Athletes can formally transfer their entry to someone else within the same distance event already entered.   
  • Additional purchases paid for at the time of entry (if any) paid by the Event Operator to a third-party are not refundable and will not be transferred with your entry. These nonrefundable additional purchases include pre-purchased photo packs (please contact Sportograf directly), training packages and event merchandise.  
  • Your options regarding refunds for merchandise purchased during registration are outlined in the Online Stores Terms and Conditions available https://runaway-series.myshopify.com/pages/terms-conditions Please note that refunds are not offered for change of mind merchandise purchases.   
  • It is not possible to transfer your entry to someone else who wants to do a different distance event (i.e. Full Marathon to Half Marathon).   

  
Please note: the receiving athlete will be sent a link to complete the registration and will need to pay for the entry (at the current entry price advertised on the event website in order for the transfer to process, then the original athlete will be refunded their entry fee less the transfer fee including all fees and taxes transfer fee.   
  
**As stated in the Athlete Waiver, under no circumstance are you permitted to give your bib to another person. The safety of our athletes is paramount, therefore, we need to ensure we have correct details of all our athletes on course.   
 

Yes, it is possible to change race distance to both shorter and longer distances. Please be aware there is a deadline for changing distance and transferring your entry to someone else.
